Životopisy umělcůRussell Medley (dirigent) se narodil v Cheshire v Anglii a od útlého věku studoval hru na klavír, později hrál na mnoha koncertech ať již jako sólista či doprovod. Po absolutoriu Royal Northern College of Music (Severní královské hudební akademie), na které studoval hru na klavír, kontrabas, skladbu a dirigování, se rozhodl věnovat specializaci doprovodné hraní a strávil dva roky postgraduálním studiem, které završil Performer's Diploma (Uměleckým diplomem) se specializací na doprovod. Jeho hlavní zkušeností jsou doprovody zpěváků. S nimi procestoval většinu Spojeného království a hrál na recitálech a hudebních seminářích na takových místech jako jsou Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room a na Festivalu Cheltenham a Mananan Festivalu na ostrově Mann. Hrál rovněž na Normanských ostrovech, ve Finsku, Švédsku a Dánsku a podílel se na nahrávkách pro BBC, ITV a RTE (Irsko). V průběhu let pracoval s mnoha významnými dirigenty, zvláště při doprovodu i během své funkce asistenta sbormistra Hallé Choir v letech 1983 až 1991. V mnoha dalších sborových sdruženích působil jako varhaník a dirigent. V roce 1987 se stal zkoušejícím Přidružené rady pro Royal Schools of Music (Královské hudební školy) a od té doby působil v Singapuru, Hong Kongu, Malajsii, Jižní Africe, Holandsku, Itálii, Rakousku a Ugandě a zároveň i na většině míst ve Spojeném království. Při svém pobytu v Singapuru v roce 2001 řídil sborový workshop zaměřený na chrámovou hudbu a byl porotcem soutěže Singapore Youth Choir (Singapurská soutěž mladých sborů). V současné době již probíhá jeho dvacátá první sezóna na postu hudebního ředitele Sale Choral Society, zároveň je i hudebním ředitelem Northern England Chorale a Lindow Singers a přednášejících/repetitorem na katedře opery a zpěvu RNCM, kde učí mnoho z budoucích hvězd operního nebe. Současně je také dirigentem Komorního sboru RNCM a Operního sboru RNCM. Richard Brocklehurst (varhaník) se narodil ve Stretfordu u Manchesteru a studoval na Kings School v Macclesfieldu, na Sheffieldské universitě a Portsmouthské polytechnice. Hudbu studoval v Sheffieldu, kde se specializoval na hru na varhany u Grahama Matthewse, který v té době byl varhaníkem a sbormistrem Sheffieldské katedrály, a také u Simona Lindleyho, varhaníka a sbormistra farního kostela v Leedsu. V roce 1997 získal pedagogickou pozici na Royal College of Organists (Královské akademii varhaníku). Od roku 1990 až do současnosti, stejně jako v letech 1984 až 1986, je druhým varhaníkem v kostele Svatého Bartoloměje ve Wilmslow u Manchesteru. V posledních čtyřech letech také pravidelně doprovází Lindow Singers, hraje také s Pennine Singers a Orrishmere Singers (kteří zpívají týdenní bohoslužby každý rok v jiné katedrále). Spolupracuje také s jinými sbory a kostely, které potřebují varhaníka či pianistu. Kristene Sutcliffe a Jonathan Pugsley vystupují díky svolení ředitele Royal Northern College of Music. Oba se zúčastnili i turné sboru Northern England Chorale na Kypr v roce 2004. Kristene Sutcliffe (soprán) se začala věnovat zpěvu již ve svých 14 letech, kdy studovala u Margaret Curphey. V roce 1992 se stala úplně první vítězkou Young Singer of Mann (Mladý zpěvák ostrova Mann) a v roce 1999 byla ve finále Cleveland Medal na hudebním festivalu Manx Music Festival. Kristene zpívala hlavní role při mnoha příležitostech pro divadelní společnost Manx Gilbert a Sullivan Society a byla hostující sólistkou na Manx Last Night of the Proms (Manx poslední noc promujících). Spolupracovala s Opera North na koncertní verzi Wagnerova Tannhausera a hrála Gianettu na Mananan Opera Festival v jejich provedení Donizettiho Elixíru Lásky. V roce 1998 spolupracovala s operní společností New Carl Rosa Opera Company na jejich turné po Velké Británii v Mikádu, Jolantě a Piráti z Penzance. Toto turné zahrnovalo Bridgewater Hall, Manchester a mezinárodní festival Buxton International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival. Kristene je v současnosti studentkou čtvrtého ročníku magisterského studia na RNCM u Sandry Dugdale. V průběhu svého studia na akademii hrála v Čajkovského Pikové královně, Mozartově Donu Giovannim a Stravinského Životě prostopášníka. Kristene také zpívala roly Belindy v produkci RNCM Purcellova Dido a Aeneas v roce 2003 a titulní roly v Dibniově Efezské matroně v roce 2004 pro projekt barokní opery RNCM. Kristene pravidelně zpívá oratoria a její poslední představení zahrnují Handelova Mesiáše a Jidáše Makabejského, Monteverdiho Večerní mši, Brittenovo Rejoice in the Lamb, Schubertovu Mši v G a Mendelssohnova Svatého Pavla. Nedávno přijala roli Musetty v Puciniho La Boheme pro Mananan Opera Festival, kterou řídili Stefan Janski a Jean Mallandaine. Kristene je velmi vděčná samosprávě ostrova Mann za jejich štědrou podporu. Jonathan Pugsley (baryton) se narodil v roce 1978 a v současné době je postgraduálním studentem RNCM. Svá magisterská studia absolvoval na RNCM u Patricka McGuigana. V průběhu studií na RNCM si zazpíval roli Majora Doma v Čajkovského Pikové královně, v té samé opeře si také zahrál roli Hraběte Tomského a titulní roli Verdiho Falstaffa v seriálu vzdělávacího workshopu RNCM. V nedávné době zpíval roli Nicka Shadowa v produkci RNCM Stravinského Životě prostopášníka. Mimo akademii Jonathan zpíval Achilla v Handlově Juliu Ceasarovi pro Yorke Trust v Norfolku a roli pážete v Menottiho Amahl and the Night Visitors s Northern Sinfonia dirigovanými Richardem Hickoxem. Premiérově zazpíval roli Sottila a Tartata v opeře Detleva Glanerta Enigma v 28. Cantiere, Montepulcciana i monolog Lucciana Chaillyho Il libro dei reclami. Zazpíval si také roli Zaccaria ve Verdiho Nabucco s Preston Opera. Jonathan se pravidelně objevuje po celé Velké Británii jako sólista oratorií a recitálů. V poslední době zpíval Schumannovu Dichterliebe, Straussovu Kramářskou píseň a Songs of Travel Vaughana Williamse. Dostal také příležitost zazpívat Mahlerovo Rückert Lieder za doprovodu Repertoire Orchestra RNCM. Zpěv oratorií zahrnoval Handlova Mesiáše a Samsona, Haydnovo Stvoření a Roční období, Bachovu Mši B mol a Vánoční oratorium a Requiem Mozartovo, Duruflého a Brahmsovo, i Mendelssohnova Svatého Pavla. Jonathan byl přijat za člena programu na podporu mladých umělců nadace Britten Pears (Britten Pears Foundation Young Artists Programme), za což je velmi vděčný. The Northern England ChoralePatrons:

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to LORM – the Society for the deafblind. Artists' BiographiesRussell Medley (Conductor) was born in Cheshire, England and studied piano from an early age, subsequently playing in many concerts both as soloist and accompanist. Following graduation from the Royal Northern College of Music, where he studied piano, double bass, composition and conducting, he decided to specialise in accompaniment and spent two years of post graduate study culminating in a Performer's Diploma with distinction in accompaniment. The majority of his experience has been in the accompaniment of singers and he has travelled widely throughout the UK playing for recitals and master classes in such venues as the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room and at the Cheltenham Festival and the Mananan Festival in the Isle of Man. He has also performed in the Channel Islands, Finland, Sweden and Denmark and has participated in recordings for BBC, ITV and with RTE (Ireland). Over the years he has worked with many leading conductors, especially as accompanist and Assistant Chorus Master to the Hallé Choir from 1983 to 1991, and has also been involved with many other choral societies as conductor and organist. In 1987, he became an examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and has since worked in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Africa, Holland, Italy, Austria and Uganda as well as most of the UK. In 2001, whilst in Singapore he conducted a choral workshop based on church music, and adjudicated at the Singapore Youth Choir competition. Now in his twenty-first season as Musical Director of Sale Choral Society, as well as being the Musical Director of the Northern England Chorale and the Lindow Singers, he is presently a Senior Lecturer/Repetiteur in the Department of Opera and Vocal studies at the RNCM where he coaches many of the future stars of the Operatic World as well as conducting the RNCM Chamber Choir and RNCM Opera Chorus. Richard Brocklehurst (Organist) was born in Stretford, Manchester, and educated at Kings School Macclesfield, Sheffield University and Portsmouth Polytechnic. He studied music at Sheffield, and studied the organ under the then organist and choirmaster at Sheffield cathedral, Graham Matthews, and the organist and choirmaster of Leeds Parish Church, Simon Lindley. He was awarded the Associateship of the Royal College of Organists in 1997. From 1984 to 1986, and then from 1990 to the present, he has been assistant organist of St Bartholomew's Church in Wilmslow, near Manchester. He also has been the regular accompanist for the Lindow Singers for the last four years, and also plays for the Orrishmere Singers (which sing a week's services at a different cathedral each year) and the Pennine Singers. He also freelances for other choirs and churches requiring organists or pianists Kristene Sutcliffe and Jonathan Pugsley appear by kind permission of the Principal of the Royal Northern College of Music. They both also toured with the Northern England Chorale during the choir's tour of Cyprus in 2004. Kristene Sutcliffe (Soprano) began singing at the age of 14, studying with Margaret Curphey. In 1992, she was the first ever Young Singer of Mann and in 1999 she was a finalist for the Cleveland Medal at the Manx Music Festival. Kristene has been a principal on many occasions for the Manx Gilbert and Sullivan Society and has been a guest soloist for the Manx Last Night of the Proms. She has worked with Opera North on a concert version of Wagner's Tannhauser and played Gianetta in the Mananan Opera Festival production of Donizetti's The Elixir of Love. In 1998 she worked with the New Carl Rosa Opera Company on their UK tour of 'The Mikado', 'Iolanthe' and 'The Pirates of Penzance'. This tour included the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester and the Buxton International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival. Kristene is currently a fourth year under-graduate at the RNCM studying with Sandra Dugdale. Whilst at the college she has performed in Tchaikovsky's Queen of Spades, Mozart's Don Giovanni and Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress. Kristene also performed the role of Belinda in the RNCM's production of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas in 2003 and the title role in Dibdin's The Ephesian Matron in 2004 for the RNCM Baroque Opera Projects. Kristene performs regularly on the oratorio platform and recent performances include Handel's Messiah and Judas Maccabaeus, Monteverdi's Vespers, Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb, Schubert's Mass in G and Mendelssohn's St Paul. She has recently taken the role of Musetta in Puccini's La Boheme for the Mananan Opera Festival, under the direction of Stefan Janski and Jean Mallandaine. Kristene is most grateful to the Isle of Man Government for their generous support. Jonathan Pugsley (Baritone) was born in 1978 and is currently a post-graduate student at the RNCM having completed his under-graduate study there with Patrick McGuigan. At the RNCM, he has taken the role of the Major Domo in Tchaikovsky's Queen of Spades and has also performed the roles of Count Tomsky in the Queen of Spades and the title role in Verdi's Falstaff for the RNCM Education workshop series. He recently performed the role of Nick Shadow in the RNCM's 2004 production of Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress. Outside of College Jonathan has performed the role of Achillas in Handel's Julius Caesar for the Yorke Trust in Norfolk and the role of the Page in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors with the Northern Sinfonia conducted by Richard Hickox. He premiered the role of Sottile and Tartato in Detlev Glanert's opera Enigma in the 28th Cantiere, Montepulcciano as well as Lucciano Chailly's monologue Il libro dei reclami. He has also sung the role of Zaccaria in Verdi's Nabucco with Preston Opera. Jonathan appears regularly throughout the UK as an oratorio soloist and recitalist. He has recently performed Schumann's Dichterliebe, Strauss' Kraemerspiegel and Vaughan Williams' Songs of Travel. He also won the opportunity to sing Mahler's Rückert Lieder with the RNCM's Repertoire Orchestra. Oratorio performances have included Handel's Messiah and Samson, Haydn's Creation and Seasons, Bach's B Minor Mass and Christmas Oratorio and Requiems by Mozart, Duruflé and Brahms as well as Mendelssohn's St. Paul. Jonathan has been accepted as a member of the Britten Pears Foundation Young Artists Programme and is grateful to them for their support.
